This document outlines the steps needed to install the
software on a Windows 2000, XP & Vista based computer.
Note: Please ensure your Internet
connection works before performing these steps
1 If running Windows XP
or Vista, go to Start | All Programs
| Accessories | System Tools| System Restore. Select Create a
restore point and give it a name such as PreCoexis VPN Install.
This will allow you to roll the system back in case anything goes wrong.
2 Run
SecureClient.msi. Select Open when prompted what to do
with the file. After install, reboot the computer.
3 Once the computer has rebooted, connect to the Internet and
perform the following steps

4 Click on the
Key icon located by the clock and select
Connect... form the menu which appears

5 You will be
warned the server address has not been configured. Click
Yes to configure it now

 |

6 A wizard will
be launched to guide you through the steps. Enter the Server
Address (Please confirm this with either Paul or James). Click
Next
|

7 Select
SecurID and click Next
|
 |
|
 |
|
8 Leave
key FOB hard token selected. Click Next
|
|
9 Enter your
username (same as your Windows on at Coexis), the secret PIN
number and the number currently displayed on the LCD of the
SecurID. Click Next
|
|
10 Leave
connectivity settings as standard and click
Next
|
|
11 You will be
presented with a certificate fingerprint. Click Next
|

12 Click finish
to close the wizard

The following additional steps are required if running
Windows XP:
Turn back on Fast User Switching
CheckPoint SecureClient switches “Fast User Switching” off
during install.

Go to StartàControl
Panel and click on User Accounts.

Click on the task Change the way users log on or off,
put a tick next to Use Fast User Switching and then
press the Apply Options button.
